Hello folks,

I'm on the plane ride back from San Diego Comic-Con. Fatigued, sure, but it was a fantastic show. I almost missed the flight and unfortunately my wingman and fellow Keeper of the Exit Aisle is a bit prickly. I guess we got off to a bad start when I went to move his magazines off the chair... "Those are mine!" Dude, you can have your "Men's Journal," it's okay. He has his neck pillow and his iPod now, so he's happy.

I didn't hear an attendance count, but the show definitely felt larger than last year, which is saying something. It's become an entertainment and retail juggernaut. When "Snakes on a Plane" builds a quasi-scale model of a plane hull with a huge snake head, you know the show's reached a new plateau. I bumped into an old friend from college who's an aspiring screenwriter. He wasn't sure why he was there, but since it seemed like the thing for Hollywood-types to do, he went. The cast of the upcoming movie "Grindhouse" was signing autographs from the floor. I believe Tarantino was with them, but I couldn't see. Saturday's human crush was amazing. Hordes of us! The coolest part about it was the cornucopia of costumes and displays --- hey, there's Chewbacca, there's Lone Wolf & Cub (I wondered if he was being chastised when the PA declared, "There are to be no rolling luggage, suitcases, or carts on the convention floor"), there's an Adam West Batman, there's Dick Tracy, there's a guy dressed as Lou Ferrigno, wait, that is Lou Ferrigno, there's some guy in a diaper, there's Frank Cho, there's Bryan Singer. EC Archives Weird Science Preview
We just posted a 5-page preview of the upcoming EC Archives Weird Science Vol 1 HC on our site (check it out). As you can see, the reproduction is exquisite and the remastered coloring is true to the source.  I'm really looking forward to this release.  Be sure to check it out the preview! 

New Releases
A couple words about this week's new releases. You'll see that we're receiving the variant edition of the Marvel Masterworks Captain America Vol 3 HC this week.  However, the regular edition is delayed one week and will be out 8/1 instead of 7/26. Our distributor didn't get them all to their southeast warehouse in time for shipping this week, but they're on the way.  Please let me know if you have questions about this one.
